Bitsy Events: { DIY Wedding Decor }

Calling all crafty couples!  Here's an adorable wedding with many DIY projects you'll love.

Bitsy had the pleasure of coordinating a beautiful wedding for Aaron + Alicia earlier this summer. This couple is very talented and artisy which certainly showed throughout their special day.  We feel in love with their ideas and truly thank them for letting us share!...

{ Love Window }

A three-pane window turned into a chic vintage decor item, yes please! On this piece, each window pane was hand-painted with something special to the couple: the words TRUE LOVE and the date of their wedding. This served as a beautiful decor piece on the mantel behind their head table during the reception.

You could also add your names, initials or even a quote to this project! Such a fun, affordable way to add a unique, personalized touch.  Not to mention browsing local thrift stores, yard sales or seeing what family may have stashed in their garage would be a fun treasure hunt to find the perfect piece.

{ Flower Girl Wagon }

This little wagon served as a very crafty and very adorable ride for the precious little flower girl. Her custom wagon was hand-painted pastel yellow with the words "Love Flyer" displayed on the side in gray. As she rolled down the asile coming into the ceremony the custom sign on her wagon read "Almost Married" and as the ceremony concluded and she exited the wagon sign was flipped and then read "Just Married".  So so cute!

{Card Box Birds }

Here at Bitsy we love birds and couldn't help but "ooo & aww" over this adorable card box!  Inside the box rested a bride bird and a groom bird both crafted out of yellow print fabric for the bodies on top of black wire for the legs. The bride bird wore a lovely veil and the groom bird kept it classy with a black bow-tie.  On the outside of the box was the word "love" painted in gray.

{ Wooden Star }

Another awesome guest book creation! This gorgeous wooden star was hand-crafted by the groom himself. Guests signed the star with silver permanent pens and were very good about letting the ink dry. The end result was a beautiful memento for the couple to hang in their home for many years to come.

... Now, go have fun! Be inspired.

A BIG thank you to Matt Shumate Photography for allowing us to share his stunning work!

Hudson, Wisconsin - Lavender Love: Randee + Brad

The clouds and thunderstorms broke just in time for Randee and Brad to be showered with the wonderful scent of sweet Lavender after they tied the knot at Bethel Lutheran Church in Hudson, Wisconsin.

Following the nuptials, guests entered the beautifully transformed Kilkarney Hills Golf Club. California based, Isis Design created a purple and green palette accented with soft chiffon draping, silver chiavary chairs, and textured runners that complimented the bride's dress detail.

Lyrics from their first dance song surrounded an engagement photo of the couple to accompany the guest book.

After a long day on her feet, the bride traded her purple heels for a pair of comfy converse to dance the night away.

Congratulations Randee and Brad!

Bitsy Events: Real Wedding | Aaron + Alicia | Des Moines, WA

This past weekend we had the pleasure of coordinating a beautiful wedding at the Landmark Event Center for lovebirds Aaron + Alicia.   The day was divine.  Just enough sun, flowers in bloom, great music, lots of laughter and plenty of rockin' dance moves. Aaron & Alicia even served breakfast foods for dinner, a couple with our taste exactly! And to add even more sweetness to the evening;  fresh Top Pot Doughnuts were served for dessert, yum!

Thank you to Matt Shumate Photography for letting us share a sneak peak of this special day.

Bitsy Events | Love is Sweet: Honey + Bee

This past weekend, we had the pleasure of showcasing in the 2011 Snohomish Wedding Tour for our second year in a row. We featured our talents at the lovely Swans Trail Farms alongside many other wonderful industry vendors. This year our venue's team decided to set-up a mock wedding for display with a fun theme of honeybees and a pallet of yellows and black.  The sun came out just in time for couples to tour the beautiful rustic barn, sample many tasty treats, enjoy good music and even grab some props and take a few photos for keepsake.

Thank you to all who came to see us and to those we worked alongside, it was a fabulous day!
Be sure to view our Facebook page for more photos from the wedding tour.

We just adored this cake crafted by the talented Cakewalk Shop.

Thank you to Lilies and Lemon Drops for donating the beautiful floral centerpieces.

Nelly, the farm dog, will likely greet you on a tour a Swans Trail.
She's adorable and very friendly. We became a fan!
